My Lush Henna Experience

I am going to start by saying that this was my first time using Henna. I have nothing to compare this experience to, and can also claim that I am far from an expert when it comes to Henna. Based off the information I gathered from the Web and You Tube experiences, I believe the Lush Henna is a much simpler, cleaner process, plus the smell is bearable-actually pleasant in my opinion.

If you don't wish to dye your hair jet black, like myself, Lush Henna provides several other coloring options, like brown and red. I created the mixture by pouring boiling water over the blocks, which I placed in a ceramic bowl. I gradually added additional blocks, poured more water, and continued stirring until it took the appearance of a brownie batter texture. I decided to use the entire Henna block since my hair is pretty thick. The portion you choose to use is obviously based on the length and texture of your hair. I slathered it on my entire head while wearing rubber gloves. I then wrapped my head in plastic wrap to hold in the color and prevent the mess from falling over the house, as it is quite messy and will definitely stain anything it touches.

I washed my hair out in the shower, using my normal shampoo and conditioner. It is a little work getting all of the crumbs and residue out of your hair, but well worth the trouble. My hair felt like never before. It appeared to be shinier, healthier, and even has a slight red tint when the sun hits it just so. I'm a fan!

Hope this info helps you in your Henna attempts. Pictures are posted on my Tumblr page! View additional links below regarding Henna and Lush. Good luck and please let me know about your personal experience!

Moroccan Red Clay - hair and beauty treatments

Red clay is one of my recent discoveries.  I came across the name numerous times while surfing the Internet, and only read great reviews.  I decided to make a purchase a few months back, and finally put this clay to use. Most of you know that I have tried several clays, and have been satisfied with each one.  I try to keep them on hand and tend to use them more for my hair than for my face or body.  My favorite clays are Indian clay and Kaolin clay.  Simply add water, aloe vera juice, and/or apple cider vinegar, and you've created an instant paste.  The amount of liquid used will of course be based on what you're creating; facial, hair conditioner, foot application, etc. Red clay can also be used on the body, head to toe.  It has been used for centuries- across the world.   Tackle blemishes or create cleaner and clearer skin.  Alleviate acne, discoloration and create youthful skin.  If you are suffering from any of...

Shower Steamers

If you're a big fan of showers, plus love aromatherapy, than shower steamers are a must-have.  So quick and simple to make, and the benefits are pretty amazing too.  While showering and doing whatever it is that you're doing in the shower, you can easily multi-task and take on a mind blowing aromatherapy treatment.  I love lavender for relaxing, and eucalyptus when I'm feeling ill.  How about lemongrass for an early morning pick-me-up, or perhaps, just because you want your bathroom to smell like flowers as you're showering.  My homemade steamers (lemongrass, cucumber melon, and lavender).  I keep mine in a sealed tight bag until they are ready to be used.  This ensures the scent is locked in.  Because the steamers can be somewhat pricey in the stores, maybe consider making them at home for pennies.  Here are a few options, that offer a variety of scent concoctions, and a little creativity too if inter...
