Self Care- Make it a Habit

  • Self care habits in progress. I feel so good when I take time out to treat myself. It pleases me  even more when the practice is inexpensive. Polishing my nails, at-home facial, or sometimes a lengthy shower or bath. 
  • It's extremely important to make time for yourself. I know we hear this often, but self care really promotes mental and physical health. If you're having a rough day, challenging week, or simply feeling  overwhelmed or unenthusiastic about circumstances, I strongly urge you to make time for yourself. I find that I am able to think clearer, and my stress levels are reduced significantly after I practice self care. 
Sharing a few self care pics below; at home facial, read book alone in the car, or outside in the sun, make a fun (favorite drink) to enjoy alone, or try an at home mani/pedicure. I also find drawing and painting extremely relaxing. Perhaps you can take a walk or get your heart pumping by exercising. Try slower movements with yoga or pilates. 

But whatever pulls at your heart at that moment, and brings calmness, try it. I'm sure you'll notice the difference. Final step, make it a habit, and carve out a little time for yourself weekly. Try it now, you deserve it Love.

Me, Myself, and I

Life can be so fast paced, non-stop at times. There are days when I say, 'I'd like to get off this ride and take a break!'  And I will slow down if at all possible, meaning saying no to someone, I can't help, I can't go.  Sometimes it's just necessary for me to check in with myself and realize when too much is too much.  Just two weeks ago, I was laid out on a beach, on an island, alone. No children, no husband, not even a girlfriend.  Just me, my music, and a good book.  It's rare that I get time alone, but I believe it's highly necessary.  I've gotten a few raised eyebrows because I have taken several trips without my children, a few outside of the country.  I don't feel guilty one bit.  I'm certainly not a perfect mother, but I know that quality time is important in my household, along with family fun, activities, and traveling.  Although challenging, stealing alone time really needs to be made a priority.  This time can attribute t...
