Headaches and Body Aches- Magnesium Vitamins

Magnesium has been a lifesaver in my household, for myself, as well as the children.  If you follow my posts, you know that I have been a longtime fan of magnesium.  I've found it to be even more effective than Epsom salt when it comes to muscle aches and/or swelling.  I started making my own magnesium oil a while back, applying the oil into my skin for health reasons.  This recipe was found on the Wellness Mama site, so check it out if this is something you're considering trying.  http://wellnessmama.com/5804/make-your-own-magnesium-oil/

So both of my children have experienced minor headaches and back pains here and there.  It was suggested that I try magnesium vitamins, since I'm opposed to using Tylenol, ibuprofen, etc., particularly when we're talking about small children.  The magnesium serves the same purpose as a Tylenol, relieving the pain, tension, aches, and even inflammation.  Every since discovering this, I keep magnesium vitamins on hand, and use this as a natural remedy for pain and discomfort.  This would go the same for toothaches, sore necks, migraines, swollen feet, and on and on!

Kelp Powder - Mineral Hair Treatment

View my sea kelp natural hair treatment I tried over the weekend.  It is a simple process that offers great results- shine and additional minerals that are great for the hair.  My concoction included kelp powder, aloe vera juice, and oils.  I decided to use coconut and red palm oil in my mixture, but feel free to use whatever oils work well with your hair- almond, apricot, etc.  Leave the mixture on for 2 to 4 hours.  It's easy to wash out, and the smell is minimal.  The first pic of my hair shows my texture prior to the treatment.  View the sheen and length after treatment.  This is a completely natural home remedy.  Care to learn more about kelp and how it supports hair growth, and the overall body-depending on how you use it.   Check out the link from Herb Wisdom for additional info.   http://www.herbwisdom.com/herb-kelp.html

Me, Myself, and I

Life can be so fast paced, non-stop at times. There are days when I say, 'I'd like to get off this ride and take a break!'  And I will slow down if at all possible, meaning saying no to someone, I can't help, I can't go.  Sometimes it's just necessary for me to check in with myself and realize when too much is too much.  Just two weeks ago, I was laid out on a beach, on an island, alone. No children, no husband, not even a girlfriend.  Just me, my music, and a good book.  It's rare that I get time alone, but I believe it's highly necessary.  I've gotten a few raised eyebrows because I have taken several trips without my children, a few outside of the country.  I don't feel guilty one bit.  I'm certainly not a perfect mother, but I know that quality time is important in my household, along with family fun, activities, and traveling.  Although challenging, stealing alone time really needs to be made a priority.  This time can attribute t...
