Wardrobe ME Please!

So the warm weather is surely coming soon and I'm anxious to pack away my boots and tights, and excited about rearanging the closet and pulling out sandals and open toe pumps! Are you ready?

No, I don't plan to do much shopping because that's not in my budget. I am, however, able to update my wardrobe by mixing some things up.  Try adding a belt, lightweight scarf, or reinventing an old blouse by pairing it with something unexpected.  This simple trick gives me the feeling that I have gone shopping, or have added something new to my closet. Not quite as good as shopping, but close.

I'll tell you now, building a functional wardrobe is all about being a smart shopper. It takes time, but very little money, if you do it right.

Introducing the Kiwi

So, the kiwi originated in China, but is now grown in the US, in addition to a few select countries. Here in America, the kiwi is pretty easy to find, and also reasonable in price. Believe it or not, this sweet fruit is jammed pack with vitamin C - even more than that of an orange! Also contains vitamin E, low in fat, and no cholesterol The two main claims floating around about the kiwi: 1. It's a natural energy booster! 2. It can effectively reduce asthma symptoms, and respiratory problems in general. It reduces heart problems and increases lung function. It has been suggested that a child suffering with asthma conditions can eat one to five kiwis weekly to reduce symptoms. I have personally embraced the kiwi because of the taste, plus it's a convenient snack. But, now my love for the kiwi has been placed on a higher level. Okay, that's a little extreme! Kelp Powder - Mineral Hair Treatment

View my sea kelp natural hair treatment I tried over the weekend. It is a simple process that offers great results- shine and additional minerals that are great for the hair. My concoction included kelp powder, aloe vera juice, and oils. I decided to use coconut and red palm oil in my mixture, but feel free to use whatever oils work well with your hair- almond, apricot, etc. Leave the mixture on for 2 to 4 hours. Self Care- Make it a Habit

Self care habits in progress. I feel so good when I take time out to treat myself. It pleases me even more when the practice is inexpensive. Polishing my nails, at-home facial, or sometimes a lengthy shower or bath. It's extremely important to make time for yourself. I know we hear this often, but self care really promotes mental and physical health. If you're having a rough day, challenging week, or simply feeling overwhelmed or unenthusiastic about circumstances, I strongly urge you to make time for yourself. I find that I am able to think clearer, and my stress levels are reduced significantly after I practice self care. Sharing a few self care pics below; at home facial, read book alone in the car, or outside in the sun, make a fun (favorite drink) to enjoy alone, or try an at home mani/pedicure. I also find drawing and painting extremely relaxing. Perhaps you can take a walk or get your heart pumping by exercising. Try slower movements with yoga or pilates....
